Erin Maher-Moran to Assume HETMA Leadership; Ryan Gray as Vice-Chair
Nominations for the 2024-2025 board-of-directors and chair positions are open. On June 30, 2024, Cofounder, Joe Way will officially step down as acting chair, paving the way for the organization's next phase. The new board-and-chairs will be fundamental in driving HETMA's core mission of advocating for the higher ed AV vertical; new voices are encouraged to election as part of HETMA's upcoming executive leadership team.
Erin Maher-Moran and Ryan Gray as chair and vice-chair will mark the first time since the founding of the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance (HETMA) in 2019 where cofounders Joe Way and BC Hatchett will not hold one of the two top leadership roles. As Emeritus Board-of-Director, Way and Hatchett will continue to serve on the board in an advise-and-consent manner. Maher-Moran and Gray will lead the next phase of the organization's growth with the assistance of three newly elected At-Large board and ten chairpersons to oversee the seventeen current HETMA initiatives.
Three voting positions on the board-of-directors are up for election, including the 1-year At-Large, 2-year At-Large, and 3-year At-Large. The remaining board-of-directors will consist of the three appointment roles: Erin Maher-Moran (Chair), Ryan Gray (Vice-Chair), and Atkins Fleming (Treasurer), Annie Foster (Secretary) with 1-year service remaining of the 2-year term, and BC Hatchett and Joe Way (Emeritus BoD).
All committee and initiatives chairs are up for election, including Events Chair, Education Chair, DEI Chair, Approved Program Co-Chairs (2-spots), Advisory Boards Chair, Regional Groups Chair, Membership Chair, Sponsorship Chair, Communications Chair, and Programs Chair. All roles are one-year terms; current chairs are welcome to seek reelection. Aligning with HETMA's goal of amplifying all voices, traditionally underrepresented professionals are highly encouraged to run for office.

- Nominations open March 1st through March 31st.
- Nominees immediately notified upon nomination to accept or decline ballot position.
- Nominations accepted of declined by April 15th.
- Candidate statements & bios due by April 25th.
- Elections open May 1st through Friday May 10th.
- Results announced during monthly meeting Friday May 17th.
- Transition through June 30th.
